HOW DID YOU FIRST LEARN ABOUT TSH AND WHAT DREW YOU TO US?
I first discovered TSH through a professor, Heather Solberg. We were discussing advertising agencies within the Sioux Falls circle when she expressed that this agency would be a great personality fit. After our discussion, I started following TSH on socials and learned about their work. I was initially drawn to the overall look of the agency as a whole - Clean, professional, and authentic to anything else I’d seen. After further research I learned the wide range of deliverables this agency was capable of within a small team. As someone who likes to have a differentiated agenda, that was an extremely attractive feature.
WHAT ARE 3 WORDS TO DESCRIBE THE SAMPSON HOUSE?
Professional, inviting, and versatile.
WHAT PROJECTS ARE YOU CURRENTLY WORKING ON? AND WHICH HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE SO FAR?
I haven't started any projects yet but looking though all the clients and past work has me energetic for all media advancements!
WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO WAKE UP AND GO TO WORK?
The work environment is everything! I am motivated by achievement and success, but having an appropriate environment to reach those goals is essential. Surroundings and coworkers help carve a path to where authenticity and creativity flourish.
WHAT DO YOU SPEND YOUR TIME DOING WHEN YOU’RE NOT AT WORK?
When I’m not working, you can find me with horses in the practice arena or traveling to compete in a rodeo. I also enjoy sand volleyball leagues while soaking up the sunshine! If I’m not outside or taking every opportunity to reconcile with my competitive edge, I’m most likely taking a nap or watching a movie to unwind.
WHEN DID YOU DEVELOP AN INTEREST IN ART, DESIGN AND MARKETING?
At a young age, I was always creative. I liked to paint and design my own nails, scrap book, or sketch drawings. As years progressed and I entered middle school, I began to develop a passion for public speaking roles and creative writing. Entering college I rediscovered how to utilize my skills sets and landed in advertising and marketing. As I pursued the degree, it solidified my career aspirations.
WHAT’S A CURRENT MARKETING TREND YOU SEE HAPPENING RIGHT NOW?
One of the biggest marketing trends of my era, and possibly the most obvious, is the use of influencers. Influencer marketing is booming within TikTok for my generation. Movie stars, actors, and singers are used as leverage for brand recognition and awareness everywhere. A simple example of this trend was showcased in every direction during the Superbowl.
WHO WOULD BE YOUR DREAM CLIENT TO WORK ON AND WHY?
My dream client would be the NFR (National Finals Rodeo). This is a rodeo that takes place every year in Las Vegas. Only the top pro rodeo contenders are invited to compete based on earnings throughout the entirety of the year. This event lasts 10 days. It accumulates a large audience of fans and pays out large paychecks to winners every day with an even larger pay check given to the ‘average’ winner.
This would be my dream client because it involves a sport that I am greatly passionate about. Working with this client would mean getting to work with some of the top athletes and exhibiting everything that the sport stands for.
BEST ADVICE YOU'VE EVER RECEIVED?
The best advice I’ve ever received was given to me during my junior year of high school. During a regional volleyball game that we were losing, I just came off the court and went to my coach for advice. The words she spoke to me were so simple yet carried such a high impact. She said “You’re good, but you could be great.” At that time, it seemed like I was giving the game my all, so the words cut deep. Though I no longer relate it to volleyball, I still think of this advice every time I enter a difficult situation. To me, the advice recognizes natural talent and skill but introduces the idea of hard work and where it can get you. I think this advice can apply to any situation and I commonly use it as fuel to push myself.
DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN 3 WORDS -
Authentic, playful, and passionate
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOUR POSITION?
I think my favorite part of my position will be getting to use creative language and imagery to convey a different perspective to the world based on each individualized brand. Developing a unique tone and personality acquires my favorite skillsets.
WHAT’S YOUR ULTIMATE BUCKET-LIST TRAVEL DESTINATION?
Nashville with concerts every night and rhinestones head to toe! It's on the bucket list and agenda to visit soon.
IF YOU COULD MEET ANYONE, LIVING OR DEAD, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHY?
This one is hard. To favor my current obsessions, I would want to meet Blake Lively or Zach Efron just so I could say that I was once in their presence.
FAVORITE RESTAURANT?
My favorite restaurant is Qdoba and has been for quite some time. It's affordable, delicious, and never misses. There are plenty of options and I’ve always been a taco girl!
3 INTERESTING THINGS ABOUT YOU:
I am very emotionally wired - with probably 3 different emotions running at all times. I am a big foodie with a love for Mtn Dew and weirdly really like bowling.
WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY LISTENING TO ON YOUR PLAYLIST?
Currently, jamming out to Sabrina Carpenter's song “Please, Please, Please.” However, if I were asked to pick my all-time favorite song, it would be “I Lived” by OneRepublic.
GO-TO TV SHOW?
I am more into movies, but my current go-to TV show is The Voice, which features Kelsea Ballerini as a coach.
HOW DO YOU DEFINE SUCCESS?
I don’t think overall success can be measured, but it can be recognized. As a perfectionist, I find it hard to give myself gratification by labeling anything as success. However, when others recognize and congratulate notable achievements, the feeling of fulfillment is what I would define as success.
WHAT DO YOU BRING TO THE TABLE HERE AT TSH?
My young but educated perspective and personality will complement TSH and provide useful insight for numerous projects! I hope to positively impact every piece of work I engage with.
