HOW DID YOU FIRST LEARN ABOUT TSH AND WHAT DREW YOU TO US?

Hanging out with my family or reading a good book.

WHEN DID YOU DEVELOP AN INTEREST IN ART, DESIGN AND MARKETING?

In high school I had my own YouTube channel where I would create short fashion films with my friends. This is when I first became interested in both filmmaking and marketing. I had fun creating and editing videos as well as marketing my work and myself through social media.

WHAT’S A CURRENT ART/DESIGN TREND YOU SEE HAPPENING RIGHT NOW?

Consumers are asking brands for transparency and urging them to be eco-conscious. I see designers using ‘60s and 70s style typefaces. I see a lot of inspiration taken from the Whole Earth Catalog. Here for it, I think it’s cool.

WHO WOULD BE YOUR DREAM CLIENT TO WORK ON AND WHY?

USD Community College for Sioux Falls! I feel like not many people know about their programs when they absolutely should. This has the potential to be huge and super beneficial for our community!!!

BEST ADVICE YOU'VE EVER RECEIVED?

The sooner you begin to embrace the fact that life is constantly in a state of change and that many things in life are malleable, that’s when you start to create the life that you want – for yourself!

3 INTERESTING THINGS ABOUT YOU:

  • I’m adopted and the only artist in my family (was never into sports like my brothers). When I reached out to my biological mother, I learned that she is a writer, her brother was a filmmaker, and her dad studied art history at Yale. Pretty cool to learn making art is in my blood!

  • I’m really proud of the fact that I’m Native American. I think it’s the coolest thing ever. I love learning more about my roots.

  • I get my best ideas when I’m crusin’ in the car by myself and jamin’ out to my favorite tunes during golden hour, windows down. South Dakota summers are inspiring.

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY LISTENING TO ON YOUR PLAYLIST?

Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros, The Lumineers, and a lot of Pink Floyd.

GO-TO TV SHOW?

Gilmore Girls.

HOW DO YOU DEFINE SUCCESS?

Being able to help people in my community is important to me so when I’m able to work on a project that benefits many, my cup is full.

WHAT DO YOU BRING TO THE TABLE HERE AT TSH?

Lots of ideas! I’m full of them. I’m able to combine my knowledge from my marketing studies and fine arts background to come up with an idea. I then am able to execute it through adobe applications or whatever is necessary.
