Meet the Intern: Milana

Meet, Milana. One of our digital media coordinators this year. Her main client is Coquette Couture Boutique and she's been an incredible mastermind behind driving this brand. Having her hands in everything from conception, to photo shoot coordination/production, styling, scheduling and posting for all things Coquette Couture. She rocks!

Name: Milana Arambasic

College: University of Sioux Falls

Major: Marketing & Business Innovations

What projects are you working on at The Sampson House? Currently, I am working on styling and finding inspiration for photoshoots, writing blogs, finding bloggers to collaborate with, and beginning to work on ideas for a Spring lookbook.

Favorite thing about your internship? The best thing about my internship, without a doubt, is being able to work with clothes! For a fashion lover, it’s a dream come true. I also love thinking of new and creative ideas we can incorporate into our photoshoots and social media platforms. Oh, I guess Val, Kerry, and Angie are a few of my favorite things about the internship, too. ;)

What do you spend your time doing when you’re not working on TSH? When I’m not working on TSH-related work, I’m serving tables at Carnaval Brazilian Grill (making sure people have a kick-ass time), focusing on school/homework, hanging with friends, family, and Penny…my beagle. *heart eyes*

Kindle or hard copy when reading? And, what are you reading right now? Hard copy all the way. Old-school style. The book I am currently reading, other than my textbooks, is #GirlBoss by Sophia Amoruso. I’ve been working on reading it since October…oops.

What is your ideal weekend? A weekend in the mountains, hiking, enjoying nature, and eventually drinking hot chocolate next to a fire.

What app could you not live without? Pinterest- I get to pretend as if I have my life together for a moment.

When did you develop an interest in your major? My major is Marketing: Sales Emphasis. At first, I wasn’t interested in marketing; I was just focusing on my sales emphasis and then at graduation time….I had a marketing degree. Surprise. I actually became interested in marketing once I got the internship position at TSH. I got to see all the work that goes into one social media post. I think that is what really got me hooked.

Favorite way to blow off steam? Shopping. I 100% believe in retail therapy.

If you could have lunch with one woman, who would it be and what would you order? If I could have lunch with one woman it would be Queen B, and I would be ordering some bubbly to share.

Best advice you’ve ever received? The best advice I have ever received is, “Don’t let what others think about you bother you.” From none other than my mother.

What’s your favorite thing about your internship? One of my favorite things about interning at TSH is having a chance to tap into my creative side. For the longest time, I felt as if I had 0% creativity. Partly because I told myself I didn’t. This internship has really helped me learn so much about marketing, pushing myself and my creativity.

Best party you’ve ever been to? The best party I have been to was one in Shakopee, MN before Soundset.

Favorite restaurant? Caranval Brazilian Grill…I may, or may not be biased. ;)

5 words that best describe you: Funny. Energetic. Easy-Going. Warmhearted. Adventurous.

Tell us about a project or accomplishment that you consider to be the most significant in your life. Earning my associates degree has been one of my most significant accomplishments. I got a jump start on my college education during high school, and I was able to finish up my degree in one year. One of the reasons my degree is significant is because of the knowledge I gained through the journey, and not to mention the feeling of being a responsible, young adult.
