Client Case Study: Voyage FCU Tips for Change Podcast
Podcasts have been all the hype in recent years! It is a fun way for businesses and individuals to indulge in their interests in a way that is accessible at any time right at your fingertips. In order for businesses to continue to reach new audiences, it is important to think about these new mediums. One of our clients, Voyage FCU, started a podcast, Tips for Change, in 2020.
The Sampson House created a case study centered around Podcast analytics as well as Voyage FCU’s other social media platforms. No matter what type of business you are running, modern mediums like social media and podcasts can be helpful in reaching a younger audience that might not otherwise be reached.
GOALS:
Increase social media presence by 5% and reach 10,000 media impressions. The Sampson House reached to increase Voyage FCU’s social media presence by 5%, this would include new followers and page likes.
Increasing impressions is key when growing your business. Impressions are defined as the number of users who have seen a given post, profile, or ad. Increasing followers and impressions gain more eyes on your profile and business.

Instagram Stats
Thanks to the integration of the variety of content, media types, increase in post frequency, and strategic hashtags Voyage FCU’s Instagram account has received about 22,548 impressions. Top posts included giveaway posts, general brand awareness posts, and images with staff.
From March 2, 2021 to March 9, 2022, Voyage FCU’s Instagram account received 334 profile visits and a 10% increase in followers. Instagram engagement also increased by 64.7%. All of the numbers collected by The Sampson House show positive growth and an increase of profiles visiting Voyage FCU’s Instagram account.
2. Facebook Stats:
Facebook grew greatly throughout the past year! From January 2021 to November 2021, Voyage FCU’s Facebook clicks increased by 714%. This is an important metric because one of the main goals was to increase media impressions in order for the targeted audience to be more engaged with the content and drive more people to the website.
Facebook Ads helped Voyage FCU expand its reach by 309%. From March 2, 2021 to March 9, 2022, Voyage FCU’s Facebook page has reached 90,290 accounts. This reach includes posts, stories, ads, and other social information people interacted with on the Facebook page.
3. Sound Cloud Stats:
The Sound Cloud analytics take both Spotify and iTunes into account. Overall, the podcast has 426 plays and some of the top episode topics include “How to Handle FInances Jointly as a Couple”, “Manage your Holiday Spending”, and “Story of Voyage Federal Credit Union”.
The Tips for Change Podcast has been an opportunity for The Sampson House team to explore a new medium and a different type of creative outlet. The podcast is a way to bring in local South Dakotans, Voyage FCU employees, customers, business owners, etc. to speak about a plethora of topics.
