A Day in the Life: Paige Krumwiede
If you followed along with my day in the life Instagram stories, welcome back! If not, below is a quick overview of who I am, what I do, and what a day in the life of my shoes looks like!
Hello, my name is Paige. I joined The Sampson House in June of 2022 as a Project Manager.
Who Am I?
I’m from Brandon, SD and went to South Dakota State University, where I majored in Consumer Affairs with a Marketing Minor. After college, my husband and I moved to Minneapolis and lived there for 6 years before moving back to South Dakota. We currently live in Tea with our son Cutler and mini goldendoodle, Cash! We enjoy spending time with friends and family, exploring the great outdoors, and traveling to new places.
What Do I Do?
As a Project Manager, I am responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget while ensuring they meet the expectations of TSH and client.
My day-to-day as a project manager differs each day (which is something I love), but at a high-level, I’m working closely with my team to keep projects moving from ideation to execution and every small step in between.
What’s a Day in the Life Look Like for Me?
6 - 7:30 a.m. - Wake up! Get Cutler ready for daycare and out the door.
7:45 a.m. - Take Cash for a walk. During this time I like to listen to podcasts or audiobooks!
7:45 - 8:45 a.m. - Eat breakfast, get ready, make an iced coffee for the road, and drive into the studio
9 a.m. - Arrive at the studio. Review Asana tasks, emails, and calendar for the day ahead. I like to do this first thing in the morning to get a holistic view of what my day is going to look like.
I’ve used a handful of project management softwares in my professional experience and really enjoy Asana (what we use at The Sampson House) the best! It is very user-friendly and intuitive and keeps our team on track with everything going on!
9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. - The remainder of my morning is typically spent reviewing client social media pages, sitting in on client or internal meetings, building blogs, scheduling social media content, or tasking out projects in Asana. As a Project Manager, any given day looks different from the last, which is something I love!
12 - 1 p.m. - Lunch time! My lunchtime routine changes quite often, but I usually use this time to eat something I brought from home and then go for a walk around downtown or get a quick workout in at the gym The Sampson House has access to! I love to get out of the office during this time to get some fresh air and get a clean mindset to finish out the day strong!
1 - 5 p.m. - Since mornings tend to be quite meeting heavy typically, I like to leave my afternoons open to really focus on completing my tasks for the day and allowing myself time to pivot to pressing tasks, should any pop up.
5 p.m. - Close down and head out for the day.
After the workday is done, I head home for the night to spend time with my husband, son, and dog. We like to spend the evenings playing outdoors (when the weather allows!), going to the gym and indoor swimming pool or spending time with friends and family.
I am an early bird and typically get into bed shortly after putting Cutler to bed at 8 (grandma status!), but I enjoy getting cozy in bed and just winding down the day with a favorite show.
